Default RE: I need to test a mod

Jag, have you tested it yet?
Swank do you want me to work slower? lol
I've got few more projects in my mind... Who here advertises their new proxies through a mailing list?
I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before on WPT before, but i'm going to try to implement a captcha mod onto PHP Proxy... Some proxy earners are getting ridiculous amount of pageviews (as much as 1000 pageviews per person) and i'm thinking a bot (an automated script) might be using proxies to possibly mass spam myspace users or to do other stuff where they don't want to get caught...

Anyways, does anyone have any special request for a mod to be made for PHP Proxy?

Not sure if this falls under the "mod" category but what about a control panel where you can change some variables for the whole of your proxy network? e.g. ads on proxied pages etc
Been done before somewhere but you need to buy it. I am not suggestion you give it for free but since you've asked for ideas.....

Another idea is to incorporate an opt-in mailing list area where people enter their emails to receive new proxies. There are quite a few free scripts around which just need integration.

Regarding the variables thingy for the 1st suggestion, there are already free ones out. I had it before gotta find them.

As for the 2nd idea that's what I would love to have. But as for now I will be using google groups, think that's good enough

Xpsave, i guess it's not a mod... but I just like the way it sound :P I'm pretty new to php so i'm gradually trying to make more complex "additions" to php proxy. I don't think my php skills are strong enough to make an admin panel... but i'll be definitely learning more so I can accomplish sometime in the near future. When it comes to your second idea, I was actually getting prepaired to do this, has anyone used phplist before (Cpanel)? Well i'll mess around with it, what features would you guys want with a mailing list?

I've done the first half of the mailing list "mod" :P which is now functioning at www.bebo-unblock.com so what it does so far as soon as someone types their email address it tells them if it's been successful or not (there's no reason for it not to be) and then a custom email gets sent to them welcoming them to the newsletter...

The next half would be to code a page that will send out a custom email to all those who have signed up. So this will be a semi-automatic mailing list

I have tried the mailing list but yet after 2-3 minutes did not receive a confirmation....maybe you are currently playing with it.
In any case, thanks for listening to us!
By the way, where are the emails held? Does it need a db or are they just in a text file?

Thanks

It's a flat file database, so it will be held withing a text file. I didn't see the need of setting it up with MYSQL for such a simple script.

would that be kinda of a security risk? I wouldn't want people to easily get a hold of my subscriber database.
