Default Freedom(or lack thereof) of Speech in your country

When I suggested to Swank, changin the Natural forum to a political one, I got an unexpected reply. "If people talk bad about the government on the forum couldn't we be shut down."(paraphrased)

I've only ever lived in the US/Can so I have never personally had to deal with censorship. The only rules I've had to deal with in writing is "do you have a record of them saying it" and/or "is it true". I can walk right up to the president and call him anything I'd like, in fact many people do and there aren't any repercussions. (Thank you First amendment).

So I'm curious does anyone live in a country that doesn't have freedom of speech and how strict is it?

Well I am in the same boat as you. I live in Canada and don't have to worry about what will happen if I speak bad of the government (or anyone for that matter).

It would be nice to hear what folks in censored countries have to say on this subject.
