Hi mate,

Nope there isnt any risk to speak of in owning a proxy web site. There have been cases where people send for example murder threats or perform illegal activities through your proxy in which the police may request for you to provide them your proxy logs which can be obtained from your host. But there have never been a case of a proxy owner being sued by illegal surfing activities conducted by the user. In any case, it is not common to receive such risky illegal activities so you do not have to worry about it, no risk I say

No at the most you might have to talk to the Police and deal with them in a investigation. Which might be scary if you had FBI (United States) or RCPM (Canada) at your house or something. They might push you around a bit if you dont cooperate with them. But I dont think you will end up in prison. I have never heard of anyone going to prision for running a proxy site. But I have heard the above formentioned.

Its pretty safe for proxies. Just use a private whois guard on your domain as 1st line of privacy.
